Santa Sunday

250 skiing and snowboarding Santas will once again take to the slopes this Sunday December 3, for the 18th Annual Santa Sunday at Sunday River in Maine to raise money for charity.

This was last year:

The pre-registered skiing and snowboarding Santas will join together in a jolly group schuss down one of Sunday River’s trails at approximately 10.30am, all while raising cheer and donations for the local Sunday River Community Fund (SRCF).

“There is nothing more festive than watching a couple hundred Santas schuss down the mountain together,” said Caroline Ochtera, event manager for Sunday River Resort, “It’s an incredible way to come together for a good cause and get into the holiday spirit.”

Participants in this annual event are asked to donate a minimum of $15 to the SRCF upon check-in.  Once a Santa has successfully registered and made his/her donation, that Santa must check in with Sunday River’s event elves while wearing a complete Santa suit including a hat, beard, coat, belt, and pants. Santas are asked to remain in their fanciest reds until after the group photo at 11 a.m.

In addition to being able to give back, participants receive a free lift ticket to use the morning of the event, as well as another lift ticket to use anytime before December 15th.
